Joining forces with the Central Lakes Association of REALTORS® (CLAR), TRREB submitted a letter to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission in support of Ontario Power Generation’s application to renew the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Power Reactor Operating License for a ten-year term until December 2036.

The continued operation and refurbishment of the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station represents a vital component of the region’s energy infrastructure, while contributing to economic stability, employment, and the necessary conditions to support housing throughout the GTA.

Refurbishment of Units 5 to 8 will secure more than 2,100 MW of clean, safe, and reliable electricity for an additional 30 years, providing power for approximately two million homes and businesses across Ontario.
